- Collect and report the latest domestic and international incidents and trends of vital importance; handle urgent matters that should be reported to the State Council and the Provincial Government.
- Handle the work assigned by the Provincial Government and the Emergency Management Committee of Guangdong Province; implement decisions of Provincial Government leaders on emergency management; Organize emergency management-related meetings, conferences, and activities, and prepare documents.
- Organize research and suggestion on improvement of policies, laws, regulations and plans concerning emergency management.
- Assist the Provincial Government to handle the extreme fatal and fatal emergencies; coordinate and direct the extreme fatal and fatal emergencies.
- Direct Emergency Management Institutions of the 21 Municipalities and the related provincial-level departments on construction and improvement of organization and emergency information platform, and supervise and coordinate their emergency management-related work.
- Handle tasks or other matters assigned by the Provincial Government and the Emergency Management Committee of Guangdong Province.
