2007-12-09 16:43:00

Terrorist attack refers to activities by terrorist individuals or organizations that threaten social stability and security of people’s life and property through violence and other destructive forces. Common forms of terrorist attacks are explosions, toxic gas attacks and bio-attacks.

Tips:

 Follow instruction of the government. Do not create chaos.

 ·When encountering explosion, evacuate to safe places immediately. Do not shelter in unnoticeable corners. When faced with smog caused by fires, try not to inhale soot to avoid burns in the respiratory channels. Stay as low as possible and crawl to safe places.
 ·When encountering toxic gas attack, try to run against the direction of the wind, or run to air defense works with gas prevention and ventilation facilities.  When it is too late to evacuate, try to find shelters in enclosed high-rise buildings. Once entering the rooms, close the doors and windows, cut off electricity and stuff the obvious gaps leading to the outside. Stay at places with fewest windows and doors that can seal off the wind. Wait until the toxic gas clears off and open the doors and windows to let in the fresh air.
 ·When encountering shooting rampage, drop to the ground and stay motionless, squat with hands on head and hide behind objects.
 ·When encountering bio-attacks, report to the police and go to the hospital immediately. The individuals infected or contaminated should be quarantined lest they become new source of infection. People living in the infectious areas should stay indoors and pay close attention to food and drink safety. For others, try to keep away from residential area. Protect yourself from being bitten or scratched by insects, rats or other animals.

Suggestions:

 ·Call the police whenever spotting any suspicious parcels, items, toxic gases and dangerous individuals. When receiving phone calls from terrorists, try to get more information and prolong the call to assist investigation.
 ·Get familiar with surrounding environment and learn about the emergency exits of places frequently visited.
 ·Take emergency kits.
