Cholera

Cholera is an extreme diarrhoeal disease caused by the bacterium Vibrio cholerae. Transmission to humans is by ingesting contaminated water or food.


Symptoms: stomach upset, massive watery diarrhea, vomiting fever, and dehydration. Severe infection of Cholera can result in death.

 

Tips:


 ·When above symptoms appear, consult the doctor immediately.
 ·Patients diagnosed with cholera should be treated in quarantine.
 ·The names of the person who shared dinner tables with the patient, the location of the meals, and the food served should also be informed to the doctor.
 ·Cooperate with epidemic prevention and control institutes to disinfect table wares, daily utensils and office facilities used by the patients.
 ·Burn the vomits and excrements from the patients.

 

Suggestions:


 ·Pay attention to the sanitation of food and drinks.
 ·Do not eat stale or contaminated food, uncooked or half cooked aquatic products.
