Avian influenza or "bird flu", is a contagious disease of animals caused by viruses that normally infect only birds and, less commonly, pigs. Avian influenza viruses are highly species-specific, but have, on rare occasions, crossed the species barrier to infect humans.
Tips:
·Avoid contact with dead fowls that die from abnormal causes. When dealing with dead poultry, wear protective clothing, gloves and gauze mask. Thoroughly wash and disinfect your hands with soaps afterwards.
·After contact with the poultry, if symptoms, such as fever, headache, chills, algidity, shivering, lethargy, sour throat, and cough, appear and last for 48 hours without relief, consult the doctor immediately.
·When breeding poultry, you should carefully disinfect. Take bird flu vaccine injection when necessary.
Suggestions:
·Report to the local agricultural government departments whenever discovering death of migratory birds or fowls from unknown causes.
·Eat more food rich in Vitamin C such as fruit, to enhance immunity.
