Drinking water contamination refers to accident caused by pollution of water supply, water pipes, and recycled water, which results in the appearance of pathogen or injurant in drinking water. When tap water is smelly and turbid, with suspended particles in it, it is possibly contaminated.
Tips:
·When the tap water is contaminated, inform your neighbors, and report to the water supply department and sanitation inspection and epidemic prevention department.
·Do not fish, feed, or irrigate in or near the contaminated water or river; do not wash clothes or swim in the contaminated water either.
·If you have incautiously drunk the contaminated water, watch out for yourself; if you feel uncomfortable, go to the hospital immediately.
·Use the tap water only after you receive official confirmation from government that the contamination problem is resolved.
Suggestions:
·Disinfect your water dispenser on regular basis.
·Protect the water pipes, water supply equipments snd irrigation facilities. Do not dismantle or refit them without permission.
